Prenatal yoga

A class built around the body you have this month, not the one you had before or the one you will have after. Slow, well propped, and completely free of anyone telling you to push through.

What the hour is

Space, support, and shapes that still fit

The class works with a wide stance, plenty of props, and a wall when a wall helps. Hips, lower back and breathing get most of the attention, because that is what tends to ask for it. Nothing is done lying flat on the belly, and nothing is held to the point of strain.

  • Wide stances, props and a wall when useful
  • Hips, lower back and breath get the attention
  • Every shape has a version you can leave early

Who it suits

Whether or not you have done yoga before

Plenty of people start yoga for the first time while pregnant, and this class is written on that assumption. There is nothing to catch up on. Bring whatever you are dealing with this week and it will be worked around.

Before you book

The three things people ask us about this class.

This depends on you and on what your midwife or doctor says, so we ask you to check with them first and then write to us. We will tell you honestly if a class is a good fit.

Only the teacher, and only so the shapes can be set up sensibly. It goes no further than the room.

Then you sit down. There is a bolster within reach of every mat for exactly that.

Something else on your mind?

Write to us and we will answer honestly, including when the answer is that another class would suit you better.

Take a place in the room

Tell us which class you are looking at and we will let you know what is available.
