Restorative yoga
Four or five positions, each one built out of bolsters and blankets so that your body is completely held. There is nothing to achieve here. That is the entire point of it.

What the hour is
Held up entirely by props, for as long as it takes
Each position takes a few minutes to build and is then held for eight to twelve. You will be covered with a blanket, often with something over the eyes, and the room will be dim. Some people fall asleep. Nobody minds.
- Four or five positions in the whole hour
- Blankets, bolsters and a dim room
- No strength or flexibility involved at all

Who it suits
For the weeks when you have nothing left
This is the class for illness recovery, for grief, for the far end of a hard month, and for people who have been told to rest and do not know how. If you can lie on a floor, you can do this class.
Before you book
The three things people ask us about this class.
Broadly, yes, and it is more useful than it sounds. Being fully supported lets the nervous system do something it rarely gets the chance to do.
Then you needed the sleep. You will be woken gently at the end if you are still under.
Usually yes, and it is often the only class that still works. Say what is going on before class so your props can be arranged for it.
Something else on your mind?
Write to us and we will answer honestly, including when the answer is that another class would suit you better.
